postwerk is the internal tool Maier Enterprises UG (haftungsbeschränkt) uses to plan, review and publish its team's LinkedIn posts. This page explains what personal data postwerk processes, why, and for how long. postwerk is not connected to datalove's analytics product, and data from LinkedIn is never combined with any other data.
Who is responsible
Maier Enterprises UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Panoramastr. 92, 71384 Weinstadt, Germany. Registered office: Berlin, Amtsgericht Charlottenburg, HRB 208999 B. Managing director: Stefan Maier. Contact: stefan@datalove.io. See the imprint.
Team members who sign in
postwerk is used only by people we invite. They sign in with LinkedIn. We receive and store their LinkedIn member ID, name and email address, and set one session cookie that keeps them signed in for up to 30 days. A second, optional browser setting remembers light or dark mode. There is no tracking and no advertising. We also store what team members write in postwerk: drafts, notes and files they upload. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR (running the tool for the people who use it).
Connected LinkedIn profiles and pages
A team member can connect their own LinkedIn profile, and a page admin can connect a LinkedIn page we manage, so postwerk can publish the posts they approve. For that we store the access token LinkedIn issues and the IDs of the published posts. A connection can be removed at any time in postwerk or in the member's LinkedIn settings.
For connected profiles and pages, postwerk can show how published posts perform (for example impressions, reactions, comments and follower numbers) and the comments on them, so the author can reply. To do so it reads data about other LinkedIn members who reacted or commented: their member ID, name, headline, profile picture and the text of their comment. This data is shown only to the people who manage that profile or page. It is kept as LinkedIn's API terms allow: other members' profile data for at most 24 hours, their comments and reactions for at most 48 hours, and aggregate page statistics for at most one year. It is never exported, sold, shared, combined with other data, or used for advertising, sales, recruiting or lead generation. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (managing our own LinkedIn presence).
Tracked links
Some links in our posts' comments are short links on this domain (/l/…). When you open one, we count the click for that day together with the country Cloudflare reports for the request, and forward you to the target. We don't set cookies and don't store IP addresses or anything else about the person who clicked. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (seeing which posts lead people to our websites).
Service providers
- Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting, database and file storage). Data may be processed in the USA under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
- LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company (sign-in and publishing, under LinkedIn's own privacy policy).
- Anthropic, PBC (Claude, used by team members to help write drafts; it sees the drafts and notes it works on). Data may be processed in the USA under standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep data
Team accounts, drafts and published posts are kept while the person is on the team and deleted when they are removed, unless the post was published under another profile. Data read from LinkedIn is deleted within the limits above. Removing a LinkedIn connection deletes its access token.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, restriction of processing, data portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to stefan@datalove.io. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
